Student Support Services
The Student Support Services program at Texas Christian University is a federally-funded program designed to increase the number of students who stay in college and graduate, raise the average GPA, and encourage more students to enter graduate school.
Services
Academic support is offered to all students participating in the program via counseling services, special workshops, tutorials, computer learning programs, and study skills instruction.
Each student is assigned a mentor who provides support and provide support and serves as a role model.
A learning lab complete with computers, Internet access, laser printers, a copier, typewriters, and study tables is available for the students' use. This facility is structured to provide each student with a comfortable environment conductive to study.
Eligibility Guidelines
- Students who have been accepted at or are currently attending TCU
- Individuals with disabilities
- Students who meet income criteria set forth by the US Department of Education
- First generation college students [This means that neither parent has received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree]
- Participants must be citizens of the United States of permanent residents
